Governor Herman Deru Emphasizes Legal Compliance and Timeline in Accelerating Tanjung Carat Port Development
**Palembang.** Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru, received an audience with the board of directors of PT Bukaka Teknik Utama Tbk at Griya Agung, Palembang, on Thursday (April 2, 2026).
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration to accelerate the development of Tanjung Carat Port as a key gateway for regional commodities in South Sumatra.
In his remarks, Governor Herman Deru emphasized that administratively, the development plan has entered its final stage. However, he stressed the importance of ensuring that all documentation processes are handled carefully to avoid potential legal issues in the future.
> "We welcome this collaboration. However, I remind all parties that legal aspects must be properly addressed. We already have a clear plan and vision. Every step must comply with regulations to prevent issues in the future," he stated.
He also expressed high expectations that PT Bukaka, together with the consortium team, will deliver a port that serves not only as a regional landmark but also as a lasting legacy that addresses the real needs of commodity distribution.
> "We must adhere to a strict timeline. I want us to stay aligned in every step to realize this major regional ambition. Let us carefully review each phase to ensure the targets are achieved without error," he added.
Meanwhile, Budi Hartono, Director of Portfolio at PT Bukaka Teknik Utama Tbk, presented the company’s profile, noting its establishment in 1978 and its track record in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects across Indonesia.
Also present at the meeting were the Regional Secretary of South Sumatra, Edward Candra, along with heads of relevant regional agencies within the South Sumatra Provincial Government.
